I've been a software engineer for little over 20 years professionally. I work for a international robotics company. Normally C++ or ASM for low level robot stuff because real time matters. I use C# api to allow robot to upload data. I have a function in one my apps and told ChatGPT to create a function that does this... wasn't that big. I did a benchmark test on both for the fun of it. My code was faster and used less memory. AI doesn't always do thing efficient.
