When William Gibson wrote Count Zero (the sequel to Neuromancer) the AI from the first book escaped, was roaming in the cyberspace and was worshiped by people. Back in the 80's when I read the book it seemed a bit far fetched. And yet here we are in 2025 proving once again what a great visionary he is. Although the term Cyberspace was not coined by Gibson himself in Burning Chrome (The night we burned Chrome) and in Neuromancer he brought it into the public vocabulary and gave to the term its current meaning.
