AI is the manifestation of the horrible promise made in Frankenstein. Through arrogance, greed,and impatience, we've arrived at the precipice of magnificence and terror inseparable from each other. It feels like we should be at a new Tower of Babel moment, but I'm afraid the likelihood that we will be saved from ourselves and reminded the value of humility before we can screw up the world past our capacity to fix it is very slim.
