Not sure if you're still looking at the comments here, but I just wanted to let you know that I defended the absolute hell out of AI art for the longest time and even directed a few landscape pieces myself, but now? Not really. I'm tired of it. You're completely right in this video. If someone wants to use it for personal use, like prints around their house that they think look pretty, desktop backgrounds, D&D maps, or even as inspiration for work they want to make themselves, then it's not the worst thing out there. At least if they're using it for inspiration for physical hand-made art, there will be all those little human touches that make it it's own. The issue is that isn't what most AI art is used for. I used the word "directed", because that's all you can do. Direct what you want to see and tailor it down to something that captures the vision of what you're looking for. YOU didn't "make" anything. Yet across all the AI art pages I see, it's mostly consisting of people claiming full credit for said generation. Even worse when they try to sell it or enter it in competitions. Most of what I see now are so painfully boring and unoriginal and it's clear it's just clickbait for simpletons. Examples, "WHAT IF FAMILY GUY?? BUT THEY'RE ALL BABIES??" / "WHAT IF SIMPSONS?? BUT REALISTIC??" I'm sick of it and it all looks the same. You can get some cool scenery pieces, but that's basically it. AI art did spark one good thing for me though. It inspired me to start drawing by hand again.
