54:00 Let's be honest. It IS going to take longer to replace plumbers, but it'll get here. There's already some amazing things happening in robotics. It just takes integrating AI into them and reducing their cost - which always happens eventually. The real problem I see here is that everyone assumed that creativity would be that last thing to be replaced. It would take all our manual labor but then we'd all be able to just retire to doing what makes us happy. But creativity ended up being one of the first things that came under attack and made almost completely redundant. There very well may always be value in something handmade by humans, but that is already and will further be indistinguishable. So it really becomes just doing it for yourself, reducing our world and driving us to be further self-centered and self-satisfying. If we want to create something, we'll just have the AI do it. If we want it to be imperfect and weathered, just include that in. the command. Some people will have the drive to do it themselves, but very few. Most will gradually be lulled into the easy path. This is always the case with any advancement ever made, but AI truly is different in this way, as it has the potential to be all-encompassing. It just needs time - and not even that much, relatively speaking. You might as well hope that it does develop to be non-malevent enough that it does create a virtual world for us all to permanently live in set in 1999, because that's the inevitable best conclusion, outside of a worldwide technology failure that sets us back a hundred years in development.
