I actually agree that AI will eventually take over every job that can be done on a computer, and a lot of physical ones too once AI vision and robotics catch up. The video raised two important questions: what do we do with our free time if we don’t have to work, and how do we pay for things? Both are valid concerns. About the first one — not having to work — I don’t think that’s really a problem. Most people don’t like their jobs; they work because they need the paycheck to survive. Pushing numbers in a spreadsheet isn’t fulfilling, it’s just survival. If we had something like UBI (Universal Basic Income), people could still pay for everything without needing a job just to live. Some would be happy doing nothing, others would pick up hobbies, help their communities, or volunteer for causes that matter to them. That kind of freedom could actually be a net positive. The real challenge is the second issue — money. We’ll either need UBI or we’ll have to rethink currency entirely. I don’t know how a world without money would function, since currency has existed for thousands of years as a universal trading tool. Maybe UBI, even if it’s “made-up” money at first, could be a stepping stone toward something better — and maybe future generations will figure out how to move beyond it completely.
