As an artist that does not use AI and refuses to do so, AI "art" is not art. It's generative images. Sure, he had to write the input, but that's writing, not painting, drawing, etc. He's technically a writer, not an imagery-based artist. As a writer, I ham hesitant to call him even that. Prompts are often extremely short and don't require much skill to write either.
Tbh, Charlie, if you practiced, your actual art could end up being pretty good. My early portraits were just as bad, and now I'm a professional artist (though that job is drying up fast with AI pushing artists out of the market because no one wants to pay for our decades of honed skills.. >_>; )
