The handful of people that are driving decisions in THIS country currently can't be trusted. The corporate drive for control and profit is what is behind the push for AI. Researchers are their tools with barbie doll dream world views. There has been a history of inhuman corporate greed in this country. AI gives them historically unprecedented control over what people see and hear on an individual basis. It is a propagandists wet dream. We had anti trust laws we enforced. Those have been swept under the rug by these interests. We have allowed them to set the rules and with our policy agreements on each and every app...we hand them our collars. Why would a company police it's profit potential by initiating laws against its own profit interest? Historically they will rake in profits knowing the issue and until they are finally called out on it with a law change they know needed to be done they will pretend the lack of a law makes it ok. They will also fight tooth and nail to downplay the need for the legislation fighting it politically with propaganda. It SHOULD be illegal for any company to sell ANY app that requires a privacy disclaimer period. Right now it is legal to collect everything and sell it to the highest bidder. The google asshole knows this. He knows it's wrong. You don't see him fighting to make it illegal do you? He is a manipulative inhuman predator who know how to play on human nature to get what he wants. I know one when I see them and I would not trust him as far as I could spit.
