I hope you realize that the percentage of job losses as mentioned will put the economy into a great depression. The economy will stall and everything will collapse. If you think about it, what caused the great depression in the 1930s wasn't debt, it was the leverage (debt) that came from the loss of jobs in farming. The job losses in farming came from mechanization aka tractors, combines, plows and harvesters. Sure, many families moved to cities to work in factory jobs, but the changes in labor impacted everyone. The impacts are still felt today and small farming towns have yet to recover. That technology obsoleted the farmhands and the the associated jobs. There is similar cause in effect to every economic collapse. You can't take that many jobs out of an economy and it not have ripple effect and grand implications. If AI succeeds at mechanizing jobs in information technology, it will also result in massive job loses and it will push the world economy into depression like no other and it will undermine everything gained from AI. You best hope you are wrong about job losses due to AI, because between 85 million job losses and whatever AI can improve upon, it isn't an improvement at all. We can pull the plug on AI but we can't pull the plug on 85 million workers.
