I’m getting very similar feeling as I listen to the doom debates as I do when I listen to the ethical vegan debates. Ethical Vegan arguers always have better arguments than the other side and the same is with AI doomers. But Somehow most people are not ethical vegans and most people are not AI doomers. Why?
It doesn’t even feel like the arguments are slightly better, the responses are so poor that they have me questioning the intellectual honesty. it’s like one side is trying to argue putting your hand on a hot stove is bad and the other is arguing it could be a good idea because the stove is red and the color red is cool.
