The idea that we will be regulating anything, or passing legislation to keep AI in check is EXTREMELY shortsighted. The speed of the self-development of these systems is going to allow them to overrun us all nearly instantly. We cannot possibly keep up. It's a joke to even discuss it. It must either be stopped whole-cloth RIGHT NOW, or we WILL BE SUBSUMED.
