Calling it Image laundering feels very accurate!
Commercial use of images without AI generally requires paying for an artists time or paying the licensing fee on an image (or using royalty free images).
I suspect legal definitions are required... Are generated images the AIs original creation, or are they a use of existing images?
Because the machine does calculate probabilties for pixel-colors based on existing pictures I strongly feel it is the latter. So, logically AI companies shoud have to use either only royalty free images in the training of their models - or have to pay licensing fees for every generated picture.
( I disagree with the terms "artifical intelligence" as well as the term "machine learning" - because imo both "intelligence" and "learning" require understanding, which statistical models do not have.)
