I think there should be more elaboration on the second point. Of course training the AI on stuff like Van Gogh is fine, public domain and all, the issue is when the ai gets trained on an artists art who is still alive, hasn’t given their permission, and is some random person who isn’t already a big name, and that person doesn’t get credit even though their art is what makes the AI function in the first place. Without the artists, this AI art isn’t possible, ask permission and give compensation. If it wasn’t for profit I’d be more lenient, but companies are selling this and are replace real artist. You steal their artwork without them knowing, then use the AI to take their jobs?! I wonder why people are pissed…
