There's no putting the genie back in the bottle. It's naive to say "stop chasing ASI, just stick to Narrow AI", because even if you could get all the big companies and all the governments to agree to do so, AI is open source and out of the 8 Billion humans on the planet there will always be some people who keep pursuing it. ASI is coming. We adapt or we die. Hopefully we have utopia coming or we won't be here; or the woke karen authoritarians get in control, and we will all wish we were dead instead. Pray for Utopia! Pursue Utopia. Any other possible outcome is either wishing for death or literally being dead as a species.
