i feel like this ignored the effect of automation to drive down the price of goods.
imagine a world where everything is automated, from the mine to the foundry, to the factory, to the store, everything is done by robots, robots who do not demand any money for their labour and whose maintenance and power production are also done by other robots, so they have effectively no cost (they do still consume resources, there isn't infinite energy, but pricing that becomes harder without labour) without the cost of labour and profits to middlemen, your cost to make a product is effectively zero, anything you charge is pure profit.
now suppose you have a bunch of people competing in these markets, many markets exist with razor thin margins, when cost is zero price is also going to be near zero, if a robot is doing the selling too and doesn't need any profit the cost can also drop to zero.
this race to zero cost could, over time, offset the zero buying power of people (obviously such a process wouldn't be smooth, some industries will be able to automate quicker than others)
