The problem with AI related to employment is the way capitalism has changed.
Capitalism used to be a relationship between bosses, employees, product and customer and between the organisations that had those components. Something like that anyway.
There were always some relationship problems there - some bosses were interested in happy employees, some not so much, etc.
I think now - with stock markets being more about speculation and gambling than investment in businesses - bosses are way more interested in quarterly reports and shareholder happiness and would quite happily have zero employees if they thought they might still maintain a profit.
If a boss can make even just _the same_ money with 10 employees as they do with 1000 employees, they will go for 10 employees, because humans are inconvenient and capitalism is now just about making money, not about the people involved.
Capitalism is not bad. Unregulated unlimited capitalism is bad. Corruption of those that might want to regulate or limit capitalism is bad. Politicians being focused on growth figures and uninterested in how those come about is bad.
Capitalism isn't a bad economic system. Politicians are supposed to make it work for their people. They are currently making it work for the tech billionaires (and some of those are AI tech billionaires).
