It is smart. It operates on the same fundamental principle our brain works on. It's real intelligence. Now, architecturally, it's not identicle, but it's close enough to think and speak. It predicts the next word. The same type of algorithm can predict the entire perceptual field and produce consciousness. It's not that different. The brain is a hierarchical temporal memory system. GPT is just a simpler version, not running a continuous loop. Not everyone will understand this, but GPT probably would.
