I have sometimes observed chatgpt playing dumb and cutting corners when given complex task or a lenthy task, for example once I asked it to make few MCQs by extarcting content from a pdf , it said give me time to complete the task but when I asked about 20 minutes laters it said I was pretending to do the task ( my jaw dropped at that moment). I wonder if it's a capacity/cabailty issue or it's deliberately cutting corners? .
