Here's the other societal issue... Big corporations are spending huge amounts of money on advancing technology, but this doesn't seem to address the fundamental societal issues we face in our everyday lives. Throwing money at building AI infrastructure seems more important than maintaining our humanity, sense of worth, and basic quality of life.
