It is making the assumption that AI will do these jobs with the same consistency and without errors but most importantly give greater SATISFACTION to the end consumer. Who prefers scanning their own groceries yet still paying the same prices as bed when you had a checkout assistant? Nobody!
Many of these AI technologies are thrust upon us without any research and that is why in general while technology is growing exponentially the quality of service and products is going downhill along will the general happiness of society.
