Nate says some pretty strange things in this talk. Asked if AIs have experiences, he says "My guess is probably not, but it is not a very strong guess. We should treat them well now, because there is enough of them." - sorry, what? Right now AI is nothing but software that runs a inference and then ends that task. The AI has not even remotely any idea of what the data is it processes. Similar to how your GPU has no idea what image it is creating. The AI is totally dormand does nothing at all when you don't give it a task. And when you give it a task, it will only do that task without knowing what it does. AI lacks any cognitive awareness or understanding of its data.
