This should not be breaking news, but the last thing a company wants to do is to hire and pay employees if there is a way to obviate this need. With advancements in AI coupled with corporate ruthlessness (firing someone and splitting their tasks among other employees), the employment picture will continue to become more and more difficult.
Generally speaking, life will continue to become more expensive, unstable and complex. We are seeing this today. As a result, fewer and fewer people will be able to afford "living" and elect to remain single and childless in order to simply survive -- not just here in the U.S., but in many other countries. This is already evident by declining birth rates.
