I find there's a lot of credulity about the marketing tactics of AI company execs; the reason they keep describing it as dangerous is because they're marketing it as effective. But a lot of it is BS. The AI doesn't "want" anything. It's merely running on a human defined motivation and converting input into tokens to run through the trained parameters to predict what the human would do achieve that defined motivation. There is no want, no desire involved beyond the humans programming the motivations that might seek the input data.
