AI is not replacing humans. So called "AI" layoffs are just off shoring IT jobs from the US to India, Philippines, elsewhere is cheaper. There two reasons: US is the recession, people are not getting reacher, dollar loses its value, therefore companies have to shrink. And another thing - companies shoveling billions into the AI bubble. But investors always want companies to grow in revenue and in profitability. Therefore, to keep investors happy companies just replace the US labor with cheap overseas labor force.
