There are some very good videos on YouTube that describe how computer neural networks work. I would recommend those for understanding. Additionally:
1) Ants would be a massive threat to our species if they were just 30 million times bigger - without super intelligence.
2) Other humans and humans as a whole ARE a threat to our species. Brainwashing and cult behavior are having a bit of heyday currently.
3) Just don't hook a super intelligence up to robotic equipment. You can be super smart, if you can't manipulate the physical world it's generally harmless.
