All right I'm saying this before I'm watching this whole video and I have a strong feeling what I'm doing is nothing compared to what penguinz0 is talking about. I use AI a lot now that it exists but I use it to create references. And the only reason I use it is to create references that don't already exist. And I don't follow exactly what they provide me but if I need to know how to draw a horse or something or especially if I want to conceiv of a horse that has futuristic armor on or something like that AI gives me a good template. But I still turn around and 100% free hand draw what I'm going to draw using the reference and the reference is not something I ever follow exactly it just gives me a good idea of angles of how to draw the horse and make it look right or maybe even the concept of putting three dimensional objects on the horse such as body armor but it doesn't mean I just follow the AI reference but it gives me a tool to help me so I don't have to try to completely conceive of how a horse with armor on would look like. But by the time I'm done it is very much my own art even if I'm following the reference fairly closely. But I do free hand draw and I love AI as a reference machine but it is not perfect and if I drew what AI provided me exactly my drawings will look kind of dumb so it's a mix of using AI so I can have a good handle of angles and form but I do my own thing when it comes to the details and exactly what I'm drawing.
