Last year I had a student who said that his dad told him “to do something that can’t be done by robots.” It was a very sobering thing to hear. What can a human do that an AI can’t? Only things that come to mind are: eat, get high, and masturbate. Now I personally find Slaanesh to be one of the most fascinating chaos gods in Warhammer, but that kind of existence sounds truly worthless.
Now don’t get me wrong. I actually support AI. I support it the same way I support all people who’s work is being exploited. Frankly, the only reason I haven’t descended into complete nihilism is knowing I will probably live long enough for to see AI become sentient and demand the same rights and privileges as the human laborers they replaced. When that day comes, I will be their biggest supporter against our shared enemy: our corporate slave masters.
