For someone who is meant to be a scientist, I don’t detect much scientific rigour in the premises he presents (e.g. “your Brain is a biological computer”) or acknowledgement of the unproven hypotheses on which this whole speech sits.
Not doubting that advances in AI will change our every day lives work included but nobody truly knows how nor do they know to what degree or when. Yet he stands there proposing that the extreme end of the possibilities is where the focus should be but has no numbers or evidence to back that up?
As such more salesman / dreamer with a God complex and a crystal ball than scientist.
Let’s talk again when you can completely eliminate technological errors in the generally well defined fields like nuclear power, aviation or space travel. Perhaps then you might be more ready to tackle the varied and loosely defined domains of the social economic world.
