I watched this twice taking notes the first time around and reading through my notes and making changes and sidebar comments on my notes to boot. Here is why I did this. I am a man going on 65. I was a young boy in the late 60's and early 70's. It wasn't cool in my day to write short stories and books. I hid the fact that I not only was an avid reader but I hand wrote many hundreds of notebooks of short stories and book sized stories because I was entertaining myself through a rough family life back then. When things improved later in life it was something I still did and have done to this very day. Ok, my punctuation was very limited because in my head no one was ever going to read this stuff but me Well getting married in 94 finally. When moving one time, my job required I had 30 days to be hundreds of miles away and couldn't play any part in the packing and getting things to the new city. Thus my wife had to do those honors. She found boxes of stuff I had written. Women want to label boxes when moving. That was why she inspected my old boxes way back then. This comment is going to be longer than your video. After everything got moved and I was home and we were settled in. Laying in bed one night she asked me about her discovering all of my old stories. I explained it all and how it became a thing I did. She loved the idea I used this as a coping mechanism rather than getting stoned like what so many people I hung out with coped with their life issues. She asked and I let her read them at will explaining that I had these stories in my head and wanted to get them out on paper thus I used pen or pencil, didn't punctuate and misspelled a lot of words because it just wasn't important. . Then we got a computer and she started pushing me to retype it all into our Windows 95 computer which I was just not going to do. She thought many that she read were good and had promise so a few she typed up over time. My telling her it was a waste of her time doing this didn't matter to her. Ok, over time software came out that allowed you to take hand written things and transform it to text. Wasn't always on the money but I did start back working on this which I would need to go back and make typed corrections which she really got into doing this. Maybe, just maybe we got 15-20% of my old writing typed out. With Ai it got much easier. She and I are both retired now and I did start a little in 2023 start using chatgpt to go through some of my stuff with explicit instructions to only correct spelling and punctuate correctly. It made such a huge difference in how I even look at much of this stuff. I would love at this point to get as much as I can done like this and get them copyrighted thus is why I paid so much attention to this particular posting. When I started running these through Ai not knowing how what I was doing was being collected to improve Ai models, which I didn't like when I learned about it. Now with all of that said I hope someone will appreciate this long post. But wait there is more. I have considered publishing some of these on a self publishing model under a pen name. And although everything is written by me. I have run many through a few sites that check about if it is Ai generated. One of these sites has tagged all of my stories as Ai. Many others will show anywhere from 30-60% as Ai. I have all of the old notebooks where the pages have been aged through the years and the only Ai was having Ai fix spelling and punctuations. All the words are mine. Ai is stealing from me and lying about my writing. Ai has major flaws in this respect. Kdm and I have fought over this in the last 6 or so months. I am a fighter but when they have their say and that's the end of the discussion, well. Not a ton you can do. I am still going to copyright what I can. I may not publish any but the fact that I am not free to do what I want with what I spent a lifetime creating is just wrong as wrong can be. I cannot spend my retirement fighting this battle. Ok, this is why I found this posting of yours rather disheartening but very informative. Thanks!
