I am a retired short-haul trucker. I don't think that we can expect driverless trucks to replace every driver out there, but they obviously are going to be taking over certain freight lanes. Imagine not having to run out of hours, sleep at a truck stop or worry about log books, sick days, vacations, etc.
Technology is a mixed bag - and will always bring progress as well as challenges.
