Its not surprising at all, these people were literally told AI is sentient and after 70 years of defunding public education these people do not have the tools or skills to reason otherwise. Combine this with the deep loneliness of our times and multiple, overlapping, very real existential fears and bam. Corporate-tech induced psychosis.
