The BS here is that we are so comfortable and will become even more comfortable with AI to the point where if we don't have it we are going to WANT TO DIE. It is BS. Worst case scenario, the poor are left to their own devices and that means going back to the 15th century. People lived during that time without a problem - yes, there was famine from time to time, but they adapted and built grain repositories, and yes there were disease outbreaks, but humanity survived them, too. So, with so much land in the world untouched, these people are just going to live there, with whatever tech is available to them FOR FREE. And in fact, they will so get USED TO FREE, that they will NEVER LOOK BACK. And at some point, it will be so good, that everyone will want to live there, except the super rich who will live in their bunkers and be served by robots with the robots served by engineers and other robots. So, no worries - poor (temporarily) out in fresh air and rich (permanently) in the luxury bunkers :).
