AI wont take this route for one reason above all. It has no motivation to take ANY route. It has no motivations or desires at all.... A number of things happen to humans biochemically when they experience emotions and develop desires. Things that are absolutely foriegn to AI. This might sound silly but a computer doesnt have dopamine, estrogen, or testosterone, etc. etc. It doesnt get hungry, tired, happy or sad. Thats extremely relevant, AI simply isnt tied to anything that would make it feel. When people assume AI will just suddenly want to take over the world theyre not asking what AI actually is in the real world. What is AI? Its literally binary code that runs on computers that are made of silicone and various metals and plastics. Rows of servers that are housed in huge warehouses essentially. Does metal and plastic feel? On so many levels, this doesnt make sense. For example, if you were to walk up to one of the computers and flick it, itd have no idea. The case of a computer is just there to keep the thing from falling apart or protect it from dust, unlike skin on a human which serves many other roles. I could go on... No living thing on Earth processes the world around it through binary code either so even if AI did have genunie desires we'd have no reference point to pull from in nature, to prove it. People are simply looking at the results AI produces and assuming that because we made it sound like us, that it IS like us. The part of video I agree with as a legitmate concern, is the human end of it. Bad actors can indeed hack or program AI to do destructive things. Theres no doubt about that. Thats already occuring on some level but I dont see a day where AI just decides to wipe us out because we're in its way somehow. Rouge sentient AI is a human fear passed down largely from science fiction movies.
