Well, even engineers and researchers don't understand how machine learning works behind the scenes. After giving a bunch of data, the algorithm learn from it. And you can use a ChatGPT like AI, for example llama2 or 3 locally on your computer and they are just a few gigabytes of data, but they know everything they have been trained on. So they are not even storing the data. The only explanation is consciousness.
