I'm starting to get annoyed with the AI hype. Yes all praise to this genius his technology breakthrough is genius. Mind numbing linear algebra, calculus, statistics. Leveraging impossible volumes of data and computer speeds . Access to information previously unavailable. But look closely, think critically, there is an Achilles heal: AI runs on the digital computer. Accept the premise a priori that all digital computers can do is simulate. That is all they can do that is all they have ever done that's all AI is doing today. No matter how smart you are programs on a digital computer will never be alive they will never feel they will never care how you feel or what you think. Now, consider the fact that all the genius AI technology didn't work well until the Pre -Training breakthrough. Today AI must continuously suck on the teet of pre-Training managed by humans or it will lose its integrity. But pre-training value is maxed out. .more data isn't going to improve anything .the smartest people in the world who can't get laid must go back to research mode, to achieve general intelligence, and they will fail because they are using a digital computer. We don't even know what consciousness is, how are we going to program a simulation that is meaningful. Something dramatic , unexpected, and maybe impossible will have to change to move further. Perhaps a million Qbit quantum computer? One final point, it took ,50 years for the smartest people in the world to get this far. I'm not so sure that is evidence that the AI programming approach of leveraging data and parameters instead of programming instructions is better. Google revolutionized the search engine in just 5 years using traditional programming. Behold the power of AI hype
