Unless the AI is going to be smarter than senior level workers in a number of years, these companies will shoot themselves in the foot. They'll need seniors and yet there won't be the supply to fill those roles, so the ones left will be asking 2-4 times what they were paid because someone desperate enough will pay it. We're also seeing many using AI to fake their way into a senior role even though they do not have the skills/experience.
These corporations and government need to really look into what happens when there's millions of unemployed people made "obsolete" and no one can buy their goods/services...or worse, they revolt on both the 0.1% and the government because they feel they have nothing to lose.
