Art has literally always been an extremely dubious means of making a living, the "starving artist" was/is a stereotype for a reason. If/when AI art becomes totally omnipresent, there will always be human artists doing it for the love of the craft, as they always have. Also, this guy says the anti-AI art crowd aren't luddites because automation meant cheaper textiles, thus society "improved." There are way more people who consume/want art than people who make art, so by that logic making art cheaper is also a benefit to society. A few will suffer and many will benefit. What's really going on here is that (some)creatives tend to see themselves as an elevated caste of elites, and this new tech is scary to them in the same way factory automation was to the textile mill workers. They just don't see the parallel because factory work is perceived as "low." It's just defensiveness of perceived status guised with sanctimony.
