Generative AI can only do what it does because of the artists they trained the AI with. Without artists we wouldn't have the AI models to generate art with. Artists need to be compensated for their work used in AI and as such companies shouldn't be stealing an artist's work to train their AI. It's an interesting tech but it's largely not being developed in an ethical way.
