Wow, this is so saddening. To put in all of that effort (unpaid at that) on a project only to be snubbed out of it. That's no way to treat a "friend" or an artist for that matter. A workman is worthy of their hire and artists put in so much work to hone their craft. This AI wave is huge with lots of big $$ behind it. It has its place, but I'm not a fan of appropriating the work of artists and then turning around and competing with them. As a photographer and artist , I find myself constantly competing for eyeballs on my work. I finally decided to start an art community where AI art is not allowed. It was recently launched and in its early stages. It's not the first and will not be the last. It's just an additional space that is striving to preserve real art created by real people.
