It’s just not sustainable. UBI doesn’t provide the amount of income needed to live. A thousand a month? No one can live off of that anymore.
And if UBI doesn’t lower people’s motivation to seek employment- then where are they going to find employment in a world where AI made them unemployed in the first place?
And where is the government going to get the money to pay millions of people a livable wage, when there isn’t any money to be taxed?
Even if the billionaires decided to pay everyone UBI, that money would soon run out. They’re the ones who are actually shooting themselves in the foot with AI technology.
And no one will able to go on vacations anymore, because they don’t have the money, and countries whose economy depends on tourism would crash.
This won’t work in the long term, and is not sustainable.
