I get where Shad is coming from, like I understand his view, he is just thinking in a very wrong way about it. He wants to use AI as a tool. Which I am totally into! But he is not using AI to help him, he is using AI to make stuff while HE, a human being, is a tool. AI is using him as a tool to generate that image, not the other way around -.- which SHOULD be the case imo I think AI is great for generating a random reference, giving you ideas or random names,... If you have an idea in your head, sure, use AI to generate some references. Than draw your own piece of art based on those references, as you would normally do as an artist. That is using AI as a tool to create your own art! Like when I am drawing something, I will search google for pose references, background references, specific colors or whatever I need, take that as inspiration for my own art. AI can generate those references and it is fine that it is imperfect or looks weird or is AI and not real, because it is just a reference that can give me a good idea how to go about drawing my own art. Generating AI based on your sketch and then editing it, you are not an artist at that point. Shad is an owner and artist of that sketch, not the final AI generated product. Just imagine if I stole art from artists, slightly changed some things (lets say I changed colors in GIMP or something stupid like that) and draw a small heart there... HOW could I then say, that this is my art ??? That is basically what he is doing right now! Same with like tracing art and posting it as your own etc.
