You are using the wrong definition of "sentient". Unfortunately in popular use it has come to mean what sapient means.
Dogs, cats, chickens, and cows are "sentient". It simply means the ability to "sense" and react to things.
Your video briefly touched on animal rights at the beginning but immediately dropped that narrite right there.
Forget robots. When are we going rights to animals? Corporations have rights and they are the classical defination of a Chinese room AI. So "robots" already have rights, sometimes more than humans as they cannot be "killed" for malfeasance against us "real" humans..
