I'm inclined to think, given the level of investment in AI at this point, that companies expect to be able to replace huge swathes of their workforce in order to profit from that investment. Only time will tell if that is feasible, but if it is not, and the reality is AI will simply complement the human workforce, how can companies like NVIDIA be valued higher than the economies of entire countries? Either way, there has to be a reckoning. Either the global workforce will be drastically reduced, causing immense hardship, or there will be a collapse in the value of these IA businesses, leading to financial catastrophe. This is disruptive technology, and that has always, always led to someone losing big time. When I'm told to expect little pink unicorns shitting rainbow coloured cupcakes, I'm always sceptical.
