I don’t really care about making AI art.
I care about human art
TLDR: AI is not the devil, nor is it the messiah. It’s a tool.
However, AI art being trained on art that can be viewed freely by the public is not theft. It’s about as bad as me taking a screenshot. It’s just not theft. It’s like thinking someone stole your dog because they have a picture of them saved on their phone.
It’s like making a rubbing or a mold of a sculpted or etched piece. It’s Aetheric and unreal. It’s valueless as an art piece because art only has value if it’s made by a person who can put that value in it.
AI is useful and it is the future but it’s not the future for artists. We will still need to hire artists for real artist work. The more unique and creative the more valuable those artists will be. The ability to generate an image with a written prompt is of use in a practical sense and something I use often to help myself be more creative. It’s interesting to see what an aggregate of image believes a set of words aught to represent. Especially when the result I s not what I was intending for.
