It benefits the elites to have a world of low class human labour and high tech AI, but it doesn;t benefit the ordinary person. As this scenario enfolds, so will the anger increase, Can AI answer that anger? Not if our elites are unwilling to share the benefits rather than just the downsides of AI. Downside for you - Upside for me. So what it means is that people will end up wanting to destroy the system which supports AI. Roman Empire style destruction by the Goths. As soon as you destroy electrical infrastructure you don't have AI. It's extremely open to attack - cyber or physical. Once people realize their potential exposure I expect entire areas will start de-coupling from AI. either by choice or because of terrorism or for the health of individual and/or environment. And all of this is because God always destroys Babel and scatters the people who built it.
