They're trying to disguise and fake democratic values to mask the fact that the scrapping and use of artworks is ok since ai learn like a human except it does not learn like a human. Theres a big difference, it scrapes data and create them into transformative work in seconds with the learned patterns and style, thats why you can literally produce art that can comes across as that artist artwork if you prompted the artist name or train the models on that artist work. Humans does not learn in such machine ways, they got life experiences, art fundamental learned, and inspirations from different outlets of medium and media with the hours itself in the process of the craft to create the artwork. Just from the laion dataset loophole and the use of artist name to get the art already makes the ai unethical, but the user base that attacks artist is tragic, artists are treated like non-humans. Consent is important, but ai developers and users who bullies if artists speak up about not getting the option to consent in the first place does not respect that.
