Disabled artist here! I was born with a genetic skin condition that seriously affected places where skin is naturally thinner, i.e. - hands, feet, scalp. Since I was born, I've had to deal with open wounds on my hands constantly bc the integrity of my skin was so poor and prone to infections. I spent most of my childhood with my hands wrapped in bandages. Half the time, I couldn't even hold a pencil or a pair of scissors for very long without it damaging my skin. The other half, it didn't really matter what I did to mitigate it. My hands would still feel like they were on fire. Guess what? I still became an artist. I still use traditional tools like pencils, charcoal, and paint. I've even taken a couple of pottery, printmaking, and sculpture classes, all three of which were especially murder on my hands. Still didn't stop me from creating things I loved and it never will. AI can crawl back to whatever hole it spawned out of and AI bros need to stop using disabled people as an excuse to be art thieves. Regardless of if it'd be "easier" to use AI to create my art for me, it wouldn't be even half as fun and satisfying as what I can make with my brain and my own two hands, regardless of any amount of pain I'm in. Shove off!
