Hey there, I'm specialist in Frontend software development (UI Architect). I have yet to see any AI capable of solving the problems I deal with on a daily basis. They are honestly very bad at understanding and solving novel problems currently. If it isn't something they've seen solved dozens or hundreds of times, they're quite useless, and even then, their solutions are fairly amateurish. I was working on a cutting edge library for automating CSS atomization, and before asking the AI for help on the topic, I just asked if it even knew what "Automatic CSS Atomization" was. It gave me a 2 paragraph explanation that was word-for-word copied straight from my own website. It quoted me, to myself. I was the only source of information it had on the topic, so it could not synthesize with anything else. Rather than give biased, confidently wrong, or unrelated hallucinations (which all happen often when asked hard technical questions), it just quoted verbatim. Needless to say, it was of no help on the topic. I've got many other anecdotes about AI, but currently I feel like it is a long way off from being able to actually do anything besides help out on stuff that is very basic and doesn't really matter.
