idk man... isn't AI defined by the ability to learn / teach itself by finding repeating patterns and other ways that we don't even understand?
A computer playing chess is a computer program; so is the automatic braking system: there is a sensor, there are parameters, and there is a triggered response.
I'm not saying that TODAY chess computers and AI-empowered vehicles are not actually using AI - they are, but the difference is that now they are able to collect their own data and learn from it. We haven't had that "for a long time."
