I appreciate Ezra for not letting this issue rest.
A lot of people are pretending to be certain of what will happen, but the experts are extremely divided on this, from Geoffrey Hinton at one extreme to Yan LeCun at the other. The 21st century might literally be the last century that has human beings in it.
There's a dense fog that blocks our view of the future, and exponentially accelerating AI could easily be the single biggest inflection point for our planet.
